Kathi Mathews has been working at OCPS for 44 years!  After graduating from high school, she knew she had a heart for working with children.  Nurse Kathi is always a smiling face at OCPS.  She considers herself very blessed to work with such an amazing group of parents, students, and staff.  Please feel free to reach out to her for assistance with your student's health needs.

Kelly Mathews joined the OCES team in 2023.  She is proud graduate of Oglethorpe County High School, class of 1998 and is delighted to serve the community she loves.  Kelly attended UGA and graduated from nursing school in 2002. Prior to employment at OCSS, she spent 19 years with Piedmont Athens Regional as a registered nurse and 2 years serving patients at St. Mary's Hospital.  She has 3 children in the school system.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and being outdoors.

Saundra Gabriel

Saundra Gabriel has lived in Oglethorpe County for 31 years with her husband Frankie.   She has 2 children, Madison and Corbin, and a new son-in-law Dylan.  In her free time, Saundra enjoys attending baseball games, going to the lake, shopping, and being outdoors around the fire-pit with her family.   She is a recently retired from the McPhaul Center at UGA.  She is CPR and first aid certified, and is excited to serve the children of Oglethorpe County Middle School.

Kristi Evans

Kristi Evans has been with Oglethorpe County Schools for 17 years.  Her training includes EMT-B as well as a mental health first aid certification.  When Kristi is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, her horses, and is an avid outdoor trail rider.
